Filing for public offices for the upcoming April election closed on Monday, Dec. 17. Openings in various public offices are up for grabs by both incumbents and challenging opponents.

Challenger Tim Brophy took more than 51 percent of the votes for Will County Treasurer over incumbent Weber, who got just shy of 49 percent.

Republican incumbent State Rep. Margo McDermed was given a third term by Illinois voters, defeating Democratic challenger Matthew J. Hunt.
