Few of us want to think about, let alone hear the word “winter,” after last season’s wrath brought on extreme cold warnings, a meaning to the words “polar vortex” and a depleting salt reserve experienced with all local municipalities. 

On Monday, July 28, one of those concerns was addressed as the Mokena Village Board of Trustees unanimously approved a contract for the purchase of bulk salt for the 2014-15 inevitable snow season.
