It was a dark and stormy night — and day — that caused Mokena Community Park District’s 36th annual Halloween Hollow to be canceled on Saturday, Oct. 15. But, the bad weather would only last for the one day, and Friday’s and Sunday’s fall festivities went on without a hitch.

The long-standing October tradition debuted in its new location at Yunker Farm this year. Friday’s draw was close to 4,000 people, according to event manager Rebecca Phetteplace.
